Guide For Necessary And Important Settings of Google CSE ( Custom Search Engine )

Google Custom search engines, we mostly use them on our blog or website as our search engine for making searches. As in my previous article in which i discuss about creating new Google CSE for your website or blog. So it is necessary for further settings your should have CSE. After its creation then you have to do some changes which makes your CSE more powerful in different manner and also help you to earn some revenue. So before proceeding with settings i recommend to create your CSE for site first if you don't have create yet then follow my article about

After successfully creating your new CSE then you have to some important settings like changing design, search features, Adsense activation or much more things one by one 

First of all click on your newly created CSE. Then look at on left side there are options of Setup, look and feel, Search features and others will start from Setup setting then procedure further

 Setting For Setup Tab

Choose Setup setting tab from left side menu or your CSE. 

Basic Settings

In basic setting there is an option to add Search engine, description and keywords. If you want then add them otherwise leave them empty.

Image Search:- Turn this feature to On if your blog or site is on Images or contain images. This feature allow to search Images also. If you don't want image search engine leave them as off.

Site to Search:- In this option you can add or delete sites. This feature allow CSE to make searches on listed sites only for results. Add your all sites URL where you want to use same search engines or otherwise add at least your one site for which you will use CSE

Make Money

This feature lets you to activate Adsense for search. Simply turn on this option and Add your account details if you are existing Adsense publisher or otherwise sign up for new account.  

Admin:- If you want to add anyone or any other account to manage your CSE also then add new user by adding email of that account.

 Settings For Look and Feel Tab

Layout

In this feature you can choose number if different available ways to for search engine and results placement. Simply select your any favorite layout from overlay, full width, two column and others. Then save them and get code. Place all codes by reading description carefully.

Themes

In this feature your can choose any theme in different color for title, description or URL color which will appear while searching. Choose anyone which you like. For instant preview make search for any keyword on search box present on right and choose your favorite theme.

Customise

In this option you can change the color of search button and many other small parts also. Simply select the categories one by one appear in general tab on left side.

Thumbnail

If you want to make thumbnail for each article search. Like if you use images in your article them i recommend you to make this option turn on.

Search Feature Settings

Auto-Complete

In search feature switch to third option directly of Auto-complete. This option help to make instant auto completing for relevance keyword for searches. Turn this Feature on.

After turning it on click on advance button and select third option of Any.

Advanced

In this tab there are four different available option. In which Result Sorting comes first and don't make any changes in other three left settings.

Result sorting:- This feature help to sort your results simply turn this option on and then select sorting method like on these bases of date of posting or relevance content. On my behalf choose relevant option.

Settings For Statistics and Logs 

Stats:- Simply tick on both options of web queries and images queries.

Google Analytics:- Choose your analytic profile if your are using for all the details about how your visitors are using your search engine. If you don't have enabled Analytic profile please leave it.
